Proper snow!

We had proper snow this morning! It's all gone now though because it rained but Molly & her mum took some photos of me in it. Initially I didn't like the look of it at all & refused to go in the garden. But then Molly carried me out in it.

And I realised it wasn't so bad

In fact it was rather yummy!

This is how I let Molly & her family know that I want to go back inside after being out in the garden.

After that we went on a walk & Molly let me off my lead in a small local field/area of grass. My recall wasn't great but there were lots of distractions & I did return to Molly after she called me a few times & ran in the opposite direction. And I did really well when I saw other people.

This afternoon I rested dozed on Molly's sofa while she watched some TV. I did bark & growl a bit though when some dogs barked on the programme she was watching!

My new rhino toy has a squeaker in it but I can't yet make it squeak when I want it to. However when I do accidentally make it squeak apparently I look really shocked - it makes Molly laugh.

As Molly was taking some of my stuff upstairs she had to leave the stair gate open because she didn't have a free hand to close it. I discovered the stairs for the first time but didn't get very far.

Snow, weight & a rhino!

This morning when I went out in the garden for my first wee of the day the grass had some white stuff on it! I sniffed around & then ate some of it.

I was weighed this morning & I'm the same as I was last week. Molly isn't concerned because I don't feel too thin & I'm already in the adult weight range & almost adult height (so she's a bit relieved that I'm not continuing to grow at the rate I was!), but she'll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks.

We visited Kate & Libby where I had a nice time exploring & playing. On the walk home Molly did well at distracting me from passers by with food.

Then Molly went out to the cinema & her mum looked after me. I had a good sleep & posed for this photo.

When Molly came home she brought me back a new toy from the pet shop near the cinema! Sorry for the poor quality photo - I wouldn't stay still but it does show my rhino.

A quiet afternoon & puppy class

This afternoon Molly took me up to her bedroom with her. I was really well behaved, relaxing & dozing with her on her sofa while she watched a couple of TV programmes. Here are some photos she took of me looking cute!

As you can see from the photo above I ended up stealing Molly's seat on the sofa & she moved onto the floor, hehe!

Here are a few photos of me playing with Molly's dad.

This evening we went to our 4th week of puppy class. I had lots of fun, especially playing with my friend Bailey. I'm always one of the most excitable in the class but I did well with most of the training. Apologies for the lack of photos - as I've said previously Molly's dad isn't a photographer & Molly is too busy with me to take any. I've been very sleepy since we got home because all that stimulation wore me out!

A busy morning

Today has been a busy day so far & it's not even lunchtime yet!

This morning Molly & her mum took me out for a walk. We drove to a carpark & then went for a walk in some woods where I was able to run around off lead! I stayed close to Molly & her mum though. I had lots of fun exploring, jumping over branches & playing in the leaves. We met another dog & their owner & Molly was really impressed with how I behaved & that I returned to her when she called me away. I was a bit naughty though when Molly tried to put me back in the car because I didn't want to go home! Here are some photos from the walk.

When we got home what I'm going to refer to as 'the poo incident' occurred. Molly said you don't need to know all the details, just that it resulted in me needing a bath! I'm not a fan of baths but I didn't protest too much this time. Now I'm all clean & fluffy again & am currently having a rest after all that excitement.

A nice day with Molly

Yesterday I woke Molly up early again but it was just a little bit earlier than usual. She's not sure if this is because a new chew I had the previous day made me thirsty (hence I might have drunk more & then needed a wee sooner), whether it's because I only had one walk that day (so didn't need as much sleep overnight) or for some other reason. I did have a nice doze on Molly though quite soon after getting up, which you can see from the last photo on my previous post. Molly then went back to bed for a little while once her mum was up to keep an eye on me, so she had more energy after that & we had a nice day doing lots of things together.

Molly groomed me & then took the photo below but you can't tell I'd just been brushed as I always look scruffy!

I did a few good training sessions with Molly (including starting trying to hold the basic positions for a bit longer), we played tug of war & had a couple of walks together. On our morning walk Molly had some success distracting me from barking at people with food. On our evening walk we didn't meet anyone else but I did lots of pulling on my lead so we made slow progress. I was very grabby with treats on yesterdays walks so poor Molly has some battle scars, oops!

Yesterday I also had a couple of good sessions in my crate but when Molly put me in there this morning so she could have a shower I did lots of whining.

I continued to try to chew the armchair yesterday so Molly's dad decided to put a small amount of mustard on it to deter me. But we then discovered that I like mustard! Molly's dad then tried Tabasco sauce which detered me for a short while but this morning I've shown a bit of interest in the armchair again so Molly is waiting to see what happens next. I also started trying to chew the subwoofer (I think that's what Molly's brother said it was called) yesterday so that's been blocked off with a stool to stop me getting to it.

I've been stealing gloves etc that Molly's mum has knitted & running off with them. I know "leave it" but sometimes I don't think it's worth giving exciting things up. Molly is going to try giving me food every time I "leave it" to see if that makes it more successful because at the moment if she doesn't have a treat to hand she just praises &/or plays with me.

Yesterday evening Molly & her family watched a programme called QI on the TV. I barked every time one of the buzzers went off! Molly is going to start trying to teach me the "quiet" command today so we'll see how that goes.

Don't I look long in this photo?!

I didn't wake til after Molly this morning. Apparently we might get some sleet &/or snow later today which sounds exciting! I'll report back.

Food!

Apologies for the lack of an update yesterday. I woke Molly up earlier than usual (& went out for a wee, but she wasn't sure if that was why I initially woke up because I usually hold it all night) but then went back to sleep for a little while before getting up properly. Apparently this made Molly very tired though.

I tried the new food that Molly bought for me & I like it. She only bought a small sample pack for me to try though so I can't switch over to it properly til she's got more.

Yesterday morning not one but two postmen came to the door! That was very exciting! The new one also gave me a biscuit. Molly sorted out all my supplies yesterday & organised them a bit better. She came across some treats & chews while she's was doing that so I had to sample them all, yum! We haven't yet found any that I don't like.

We just managed the one walk yesterday. We went a different route which involved a tunnel under a main road but I was very brave. I did make Molly swear though when I accidentally bit her thumb instead of the treat she was holding, oops!

I've started chewing one of the armchairs in the living room which isn't making me very popular! Everyone tries their best to distract me but I can be quite persistant! I also like chewing a chair with fabric on in the dining room.

And here are some photos for you :) The top two were taken when I was snuggling with Molly's dad last night. Sorry about the poor quality, the lighting wasn't very good.

This was me relaxing before bed last night

And this was early morning cuddles with Molly today

Lonely

Hospital stole Molly for several hours today :( Her mum looked after me well but I still missed her. Molly's voice came out of the phone while she was out which made me very excited! I barked at it, zoomed round the house & then sat at the front door to wait for her. She didn't come home for a couple more hours though. When Molly did come home I gave her a really good welcome but she wasn't too keen on me licking her face because apparently my breath doesn't smell very pleasant today!

While Molly was out I accidentally got my leg stuck in part of a cabinet. I was really dramatic & Molly's mum & brother thought I'd broken my leg because I made such a fuss. I was fine though & soon ran off playing happily. I also did lots of barking at some workmen that I could see working on neighbours' houses when I was out in the back garden.

Both of my walks with Molly today were relatively uneventful. I did lots of barking at people we saw (despite Molly's best efforts to distract me) but did well apart from that. We also did a good training session in the house where amongst the usual things I also practised sitting & lying down for longer periods.

Molly took this photo while I was dozing this evening

Don't I look cute & innocent? Just after this photo was taken Molly noticed I had something stuck in the fur near my mouth. When she tried to remove it she realised that it was some kind of poo that I had probably been eating at some point today! Oops!

Excitement

This morning Molly took me for an early morning walk. We didn't see any other people so there weren't any chances to practise distracting me from them but we did some recall on the lead work as well as a bit of walking to heel. And lots of "sit"s as usual. We went a slightly longer route this time but because I'm getting better at not pulling on the lead (I still do it, just not as much) we got round it quicker than we would have previously.

This morning I had my monthly flea treatment. It's now a tablet rather than a spot on because I'm a bit older so that's much better. As you know I'll eat anything so Molly had no problems getting me to take those tablets.

Molly has been out babysitting for most of today but she did bring the boy she looked after & his dog round to meet me this afternoon. That was so exciting (Molly, a child & a dog all came in the door at once!) that I accidentally did a little wee on the floor, oops! I had lots of fun playing with them.

After they left I had a much needed sleep.

While Molly was out the rest of her family looked after me. I helped Molly's dad clean out the chickens, ran off with his slippers on multiple occasions (which was his fault - he knows what I'm like so shouldn't have changed his footwear in front of me!) & he took me out on a walk. I was very well behaved on the walk, apart from when a cat provoked me! Molly's dad tried to distract me with food but I couldn't decide which was more interesting - the food or the cat! Molly can't understand why I run away when she/anyone taking me out gets my harness out. I'm comfortable wearing it & know it signifies a walk but I hate the idea of having it put on.

When I was just wandering around earlier I kept hearing bird noises inside the house. They seemed to come from Molly's dad's phone so I tried to bite it! It was all very intriguing.

I had some good cuddles with Molly when she came home this evening.

Miscellaneous

Today has been a quieter day & there isn't much to report. There was an article about Molly in a newspaper magazine today (I think I wrote a bit about it when the reporter & photographer visited) but the photo they chose to accompany the final piece wasn't one with me in it :(

Molly weighed me this morning & I was 5.9kg! That's a weight gain of 0.7kg in just one week!

This morning we went on a walk round the local area, on one of our usual routes. Molly was impressed that I didn't pick up/try to eat anything I shouldn't have. We did some more practising "sit"s, walking to heal, recall (on the lead) & distracting me from passers by.

We didn't manage a second walk but I had lots of fun racing around the garden, playing with Molly's brother & me & Molly did a good training session in the house this evening which wore me out. I also let Molly brush me & try out the new stripping stone she bought recently for grooming me.

Molly had to pop out a couple of times so her dad kept an eye on me. He said I was very well behaved.

Apparently I still smell so might have to have a bath in the next couple of days. I hope not!

We're still working on me spending time in my crate during the day & I'm doing well. I still whine a bit when I think I'm missing out on things but I usually settle quickly when I don't get any attention.

Molly took the photo below this morning when I was looking particularly cute.

Smelly!

I've not been very popular this evening. Apparently I stink so no-one was keen to cuddle me & wouldn't let me lick them! As well as having bad flatulence I've also been eating horse manure! I do still look cute though!

This morning Molly took me for a walk round the block. I wasn't perfect but she was very impressed with how I behaved. She even took me into the local shop (in her arms) so she could buy a newspaper. I was very quiet & calm & enjoyed being fussed over by other people. While we were out we practised lots of "sit"s, a couple of "leave it"s (although they weren't all successful, some things are just too tempting!), walking to heel, recall on the lead & Molly tried to distract me from barking at passers by. She was successful on a couple of occasions but not on a couple. Oh well, we'll get there.

I've been unusually vocal today. Ooh & here are some photos of me having cuddles with Molly's mum this afternoon.

This evening we took Issy to her riding lesson so I could meet horses for the first time! I barked a bit at the biggest ones (I'd never met any animals that big before) but generally wasn't too bothered by them. I also met some jack russells, one of whom nipped me! I made a bit of a fuss but I was fine really. And as I mentioned earlier I enjoyed eating horse poo, yum yum!

This evening Molly went out for a little while. When she came back it was quite late & she stood near my crate so I thought she was going to put me to bed without giving me attention, so I ran away from her & tried to hide! I was very pleased when Molly said hello properly & gave me a fuss so then went to bed without any problems.

P.S. I'm 16 weeks old today & have now spent half my life with Molly & her family!

Visiting & puppy class

I was less sleepy again yesterday much to Molly's relief. I did cause some chaos though!

Yesterday afternoon Molly took me to visit Kate & Libby. It was very exciting to have a new house & garden to explore & I had lots of fun there.

I got a bit overtired while we were out but because there was so much to see I wouldn't sleep in case I missed anything! I had a good sleep when we got home though.

Im the evening we went to our 3rd week of puppy class. Apologies for no photos this time, we thought asking Molly's dad to try to take some more would be too stressful! I had a great time socialising & playing with some of the other puppies. There is one puppy there though who really doesn't like me & I don't know why! Apparently I embarrassed Molly very early on because we'd just walked into the village hall & I did a poo on the floor (despite having just recently been walked round outside) - oops! I did redeem myself though by doing really well in the rest of the session :)

Degus

Molly was a bit worried about me yesterday because I was really sleepy. Then last night I had to wake her up at 4am because I needed the toilet. I had a quiet-ish morning but after lunch I had more energy & returned to causing chaos again so Molly knows I'm ok!

I discovered a big bucket of chicken poo in the garden today (how thoughful of Molly's dad to leave it there for me!), so enjoyed eating that. Molly wouldn't let me lick her face afterwards.

This afternoon we went for a walk in the village. I did bark & lunge at some people when Molly wasn't quick enough to distract me & I did pull on the lead a bit, but overall Molly said I was really good. I did some impressive "leave it"s after picking up a couple of bits of rubbish, I sat for Molly multiple times (both at kerbs & random places), I was successfully distacted (with food) from barking at someone walking on the other side of the road & we practised heel work & recall (on the lead).

This evening Molly drove me to her older brother's house where I met his degus! I wanted to play with them but luckily they weren't scared of me so it all went well. Here are some photos Molly took.

I also enjoyed vaccuuming the floor for degu poo!

A skeleton!

This morning Molly finally managed to cut my nails while I was asleep! I later scratched her face in my excitement though, oops! She's hoping my nails will wear down a bit on the pavement or she might need to have a go at filing them.

I spent a good few hours today being looked after by Molly's mum & brother while she went out. She bought some things for me though including a new lead which is much easier to attach to my harness.

When Molly got home she took me out to one of Angie's fields for a run around. I was really good - mostly sticking close to Molly but when I got a bit further away I always returned when she called me.

The most exciting part of our trip out was that I found several parts of a fox skeleton! Molly stopped me trying to eat it though.

Cheese & leaves

This morning I had to wake Molly up earlier than usual because I needed the toilet. After some thinking & a phone call to the vets for advice we suspect I could be lactose intolerant (or just have eaten too much cheese during training) so I'm not allowed to have any more & hopefully my tummy will soon feel better.

Molly's aunt called round briefly so I enjoyed saying hello to her. Then after a game of tug of war & some training with Molly, her & her dad took me out. We went to a new footpath alongside a field & I spent most of the walk off lead sniffing, exploring & playing with the fallen leaves.

I also did some good recall practise between Molly & her dad. Molly tried distracting me with food when necessary to stop me lunging & barking at things. It worked really well when a woman walked past but not so well when a dog came past - I just wanted to play with them!

Molly's dad fitted a new stair gate this evening because the wooden board across the hall won't stop me for much longer. I insisted on helping him but he wasn't so keen!

And I had fun playing with Molly's brother & my new fleecy blanket.
